I’m not sure what caused it, but I’ve developed a pain in my mid-to-upper right back. While the pain itself isn’t that bad (apart from bending over), the pain unfortunately makes a lot of the other muscles tighten up. One such muscle is in/near my neck that causes my neck to go stiff, and it becomes painful to turn my head towards the left. This has had an effect on what I’ve felt like doing this week.
I decided to change my seating position out of concern it might be what was affecting my back. Doesn’t seem to have done much of anything though. Next culprit is my bed, but I’m not sure what I can do about that short of getting a new one (which I don’t really want to dip into the finances for)
Due to changing seating positions, I’m now sitting in a recliner (versus sitting on my bed before) Thus I should have better back support. However, since I’m sitting farther away from the screen, it’s made it more difficult to do programming related stuff. On the flipside, I’ve watched way more anime than usual.
I managed to cover another 350 lines of A Clockwork Leyline. I’m trying less and less to rely on the translated version to help me with meaning. I think my longest streak of not checking was about 12 lines? Granted some of those were quite easy back and forth stuff.
I’ve been thinking a lot lately that I might try to do more to improve my Japanese. I haven’t decided what I will do yet, but I plan to try some stuff that I did back when I did AJATT (all Japanese all the time) Hopefully that gives me some ideas.
As I said above, my new seating position makes it hard to really program. That along with a renewed desire to learn Japanese, I’ve decided that I’m going to put programming on ice for a bit. I will get back to it one of these days, but first I would like to focus my energy towards my goal of Japanese first. I think it would be more efficient focusing one at a time rather than concurrently
I finished Diebuster. Been watching Robotics;Notes, Utawarerumono, and Maison Ikkoku. Will have the first two finished by next weeks update. Maison is going to take a few months as I’m doing a “1 episode a day” thing to break it into smaller chunks.
I’m planning on starting Sailor Moon once I finish Utawarerumono. My schedule for that will vary. I will pick up a smaller series after Robotics, but I’m not sure which one yet.
I will finally get around to those anime posts this next week.
Finished Xenoblade 2 and Utawarerumono (VN). You can expect a post on Xenoblade 2 soon. Utawarerumono will get a post too, but I plan on doing one when I complete the second and third games (which I will start playing Monday!)
That’s about all I have for this week.
